MIOVENIUL ESTE ÎN LUMEA BUNĂ EUROPEANĂ! La finalul lunii august, Orașul Mioveni a devenit oficial, membru al Convenției Primarilor privind Clima și Energia - Biroul Europa, intrând astfel în „lumea bună” a celor mai competitive municipalități la nivelul Uniunii Europene. Aderarea la acest organism înființat de Comisia Europeană va aduce beneficii, dar și obligații pentru Primăria Mioveni și comunitatea locală. Convenția Primarilor este cea mai mare inițiativă la nivel mondial a acțiunilor locale privind clima și energia, care reunește mii de guverne locale, cu scopul de a pune în aplicare, în mod voluntar, obiectivele UE îndomeniul climei și al energiei. Beneficiile sunt reprezentate de fondurile pe care Primăria Mioveni le va putea accesa direct de la Bruxelles, fără a mai exista vreun organism intermediar de implementare și fără a fi necesară vreo aprobare pe linie administrativă sau de partid. Convenția Primarilor privind Clima și Energia de la Bruxelles asigură finanțarea proiectelor de dezvoltare sustenabilă care au drept scop diminuarea amprentei de carbon, fiind bine știut faptul că ambiția declarată a Uniunii Europene este ca până în anul 2050 Europa să atingă neutralitatea climatică. Al doilea scop declarat al Convenției Primarilor este legat de creșterea gradului de satisfacție a cetățenilor. Acestea sunt de altfel și cele două condiții principale pe care Primăria Mioveni trebuie să le respecte pentru a putea accesa fonduri de investiții direct de la Bruxelles, în vederea asigurării dezvoltării locale sustenabile, a reducerii amprentei de carbon, deci un aer mai curat și mai bun pentru cetățenii orașului Mioveni și, în al doilea rând, creșterea gradului de satisfacție a cetățenilor cu privire la serviciile oferite de Primărie și la îmbunătățirea calității vieții. Orice proiect destinat îmbunătățirii serviciilor asigurate de către societățile aflate în coordonarea Primăriei Mioveni și finanțat prin intermediul Convenției Primarilor pentru Energie și Climă trebuie să conducă la scăderea tarifelor practicate de către societățile respective.
